Great story, Adam - I feel your pain because my husband could have written a good portion of this. He's a jack-of-many-trades artist with real-life skills and experience. He gets so frustrated with changing software and the expectation that everyone's going to keep up with it "just because", when (like you said) just about anyone could learn the new software quickly enough to hit the ground running. He also likes older versions of some software better - he very well may be running a Macromedia version of Dreamweaver and using some sort of XP module on his Windows 7 box to make it work. He's stubborn like that. I hate that actual artists don't seem to be valued anymore in the world of illustration/design.
