I just can’t love this enough. The mountains are definitely part of my soul as well, though I’ve chosen the Great Lakes as my home. I’ve always said I couldn’t live anywhere that didn’t have mountains OR big water.

When I was barely a year old, my parents took me on a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway. I think that clinched it. I don’t remember the trip itself, but the mountains have always felt like coming home to me as well. While ultimately we decided to come back to Ohio, we loved being close to the Blue Ridge Mountains when we lived in North Carolina and Virginia. Our recent trip to Blowing Rock solidified the fact that we truly need a mountain escape from time to time.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful words and photos! They brought tears to my eyes, feeling like I was there for a moment.

Life’s a journey. Sometimes a peaceful hike in the woods, sometimes a screaming joyride down a dark highway. I’m on a quest to discover my truth by sharing it.
