Oh how I needed to read this today! I recognize the physiology of “No”. I can actually get myself worked up to the point where my face and ears turn red and tingly, and it’s difficult to take a breath. It’s a horrible sensation, especially when I know I’m supposed to be keeping my blood pressure down! And it’s usually brought on by trying too hard to control something that doesn’t really matter that much anyway. It’s usually some issue with managing my own expectations. And it’s ruined more than one special event for me. Considering I have a special event today, and was starting to get myself worked up a bit over the minutiae, your perspective couldn’t have been more timely!
